The Crescent Nebula, NGC 6888

The Crescent Nebula, NGC 6888, is located some 5,000 light-years away from Earth.

It is surrounded by huge clouds of gas and dust in the constellation of Cygnus. NGC 6888’s central star is classified as a Wolf-Rayet star (WR 136). This star will become a supernovae in the near future.

To capture this image I used Hα and [OIII] narrow band filters in order to capture the faint details of this amazing deep sky structure.
