From the Orion Cloud Complex to the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds the southern night sky unveils some amazing deep sky targets such as the Eta Carinae Nebula or the large HII region called the Gum Nebula. This panoramic image shows a huge area of the southern night sky from Orion to Capricornus constellation. The two brightest stars as seen from Earth (after the Sun) shine in the center-left of the image. Jupiter appears at the very end of the panorama as it was setting behind the western horizon.

The image was taken on the 7th of September at 02:00 UTC from Tivoli Astro Farm (Namibia). The darkness values that night reached an amazing 22.15 mag/arcsec2 (Bortle 1 sky).

Last September 2021 I had the privilege to make an old dream come true, a trip to one of the world darkest skies, Namibia Tivoli Farm.

I was here just for a few days, but in that short period of time I was able to gather several data: deep sky images (using an ASA 12″ Astrograph), widefield images and also some timelapses.
