Friday afternoon, 17th of December of 2021 17:55h UTC, I captured a series of images of the C\/2021 A1 (Leonard) comet from the Prades Mountains (Muntanyes de Prades) as it was visible close to Venus near its conjunction.<\/p>\n

Estimated apparent magnitude for the comet was in the range of m=4.50 to m=5.00 as we can compare it with the binary star 52 Sagittarii (m=4.55).<\/p>\n

This image is a single 3 second exposure image captured with a Sony A7S and a Samyang 135mm lens with no tracking. The comet was just 3\u00ba above the horizon and shows a really faint tail. I observed it through binoculars but it was impossible to see it with naked eye.<\/p>\n

The details shown are the result of a regular landscape image processing (PS, LR and Topaz Denoise).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
